About Aaron

Aaron Olsen is an ultra-passionate bowhunter who has meticulously designed his lifestyle to maximize his experience as a deer hunter. After a frustrating start to his bowhunting career in Northern Michigan, taking him 7 years to shoot his first deer with a bow and 14 years to shoot his first buck, he eventually sought better opportunities and dove into the world of mobile hunting in Southern Michigan. It was around this time that he launched Next Step Outdoors, intending to document and share his progress and learnings as a bowhunter.

Through his dedication to learning and development, he has experienced more and more success each year. His passion for hunting has taken him beyond Michigan, allowing him to experience deer hunting in eight different states. In 2021, he moved to Ohio, where he continues to refine his strategies and strives to maximize each deer season in pursuit of bigger and better bucks. Aaron continues to pursue growth opportunities and hunts several different states throughout the season. Through his blog and YouTube channel he hopes to inspire and educate fellow hunters by sharing the insights and experiences he has gained along this rewarding journey.

Just over a year ago, Aaron quit his job in corporate America to build this brand full time and spend the fall soaking in as much time in the field as possible.
